Even though the songs don’t hit as hard, they still deliver equally as well. The entire listing is full of funky and groovy tracks, with some classic hip-hop beats behind Kendrick’s words. Although the album was not originally set for release today, it is available for listen on Spotify and for purchase on iTunes now, and boy is it a step in a different and creative direction for Lamar. If you thought that the most recent track, “The Blacker The Berry,” would set the tone instead, you’d be pretty much completely wrong, apart from the general theme of the whole album. If you have followed Kendrick Lamar’s recent releases, you will know how different “I” was in comparison with his last album, “good kid, m.A.A.d.
